The Rebel, ep 1

The Rebel,
It would seem our player is a large thret to the combine. Our player, the only citizen on the train, is surounded by 20 combine armed and ready to kill. In the passenger car ahead of him sit another 20 combine.
Next thing the player knows his world is set spinning as the train incresses speed and explodes as it nears a sharp turn in the track where the passenger cars colide over the side of the hill and crash against the many large trees.

Now that your interested you have 4 choices.
1. Join the mod, read the rest of the Storyline and contact me at nicadeamas@type3studios.com (Yeah, I'm mod leader lol. all are wellcome to join.)
2. Stop where you are and be sent into torment for haveting to wait.
3. Dont join the mod and spoil the mod for yourself by reading the rest of the storyline.
4. Continue to not be interessted and leave forgetting this mod ever existed.

Continueing on with the storyline now, if you read it it may spoil the mod for you.

The Rebel

It would seem the group of 5 Rebles who crashed your train are in for a supise. At first they thought that it was just a train full of Combine but as the airships arived and ground units flooded in they soon found out it was of more inportanse then just a Combine train.
Before long the rebles were captured, And the combine begane to clean up the crash. The player wakes up to discover the combine have thrown him and all the dead combine from the train into the mines. The Player surches the dead combine for weapons but fines only a shotgun and pistle. The combine locked the enterance to the mines so the Player is forced te head deeper into tho mines.

After many long dark hours our hero once again is in the light of day. He thought about going back to the train site but there were still combine tanks, airships, and ground units standing around, so he thought it would be a better idea to run then to face them with only 2 weapons low on amo.

So after a little ways runing through the woods he comes accross a lovely jeep, nicely parked, still runs, it's great for him. As it turns out is belonged to the 5 rebels who crashed his train, and they are now in combine jeeps heading to prison.

So our player takes the jeep and starts off down the road, lovey trees lovely road, lovely zombies diveing out infront of the jeep, couldnt be better.
After a few minuets the player comes accross a Black Masa train, all piled up against a hill along with parts of a broken bridge. to the players left is the new bridge that the combine built, at it goes right through the road, very strong bridge.
So surching through the black masa train the player finds a new gun, somewhat of a sniper rail gun that takes 2 minuets to recharge.

Molments later our player is ramping over the combine bridge and speeding down the road on the other side, comeing to a sharp turn he gets a nice view of the shipyard, and beond the shipyard is miles of waistland where the ocean had been drained by the combine.
So conetinueing down the road the player comes to the shipyard. Findeing no where ells to go the player is forced to leave the car and sneek in under the docks, where he finds a bomb crazy rebel, who clains he crashed a train just hours ago.
So he askes you for help, says his buddys have been taken and he needs to blast them out before they are tourcherd into giveing away vital information. (the location of their base)
So he asks you to take this funny looking box full of wires and place it near the support beams for the docks crain.

So quickly our player runs out and runs back in, gettign shot a few times but nothign to worrie about.
Within seconds the crain support beams are blasted away and the crain begins to fall, along with the heavy pipes it was carrying. Then boom, there goes the combine watch tower and half their base.
Giveign the player an exelent walkway right int the middle of their base.

In the end the player saves the other 4 rebels who crashed his train and they all head out of the shiupyard togeather like one big happy family.
However the day is not over yet, poor dumb dumb Jerry told the combine where the base was, so they have to get to their base ASAP and warn everyone before the combine arive.
So again the player and the 5 rebels split up, the rebels head accross an old train bridge and the player heads out with the jeep, their plan beign the rebels will get there first and the player will arive in a few horus with the jeep.

So, the player now alone is driveing up the moutain to the top where he will cross the dam and continue down the road on the other side.
Sadly however, once the player reaches the dam he discovers this is where the combine have been gathering while they got ready to wipe out the rebel base.

So the player fights and fights and fights but ends up getting thought to be dead and thrown over the edge of the dam, along with all the combine he killed.

So about 10 mineuts later he washes up on the bank where he meets up with dumb old Jerry who thinks hes dead. the other 4 rebels pull him out, say a few things, and they are off again to their base.
Ariveing at their base by nightfall they warn the others about the combien attack and preperations are made, it's to late to run...

So, about midnight the attack begins huge guns and misstles are shootign combien air ships and tanks while ground rebels are holding back the ground combine.
In the end 100s die and the Rebels are forced into their cave as their last defence.
About when the combine breack through the last line of defence and striders are blasting everything away Gman shows up.
Time seems to slow and mistles seem to stop in mid air.
Walking up to the player Grman begins to talk.

"You have servived quite a lot in the events around you today, However this does seem to be your end. It would be quite unfortionit if you were to die here tonight. So if you will take my offer I will bring you into my... enployment, or... you could stay and die, die with the othersss.... The choice is yours..."

The player does nothing. Gman is somewhat upset that The Rebel did not take his offer, so Gman turnes to leave, as he walks away and Time comes back into place Gman simpley moves one of the mistles flying through the air. And with that small movement, History was changed....

but anything beond that is in The Rebel, Ep 2. And I am not at liberty to give that storyline away as of now.

So, how for along is the development for this mod? Is it as far along as BOP, or are you waiting to finish that (BOP) first before finishing The Rebel?

"The Rebel" is Nicadeamas's brainchild. He contributes to BOP from time to time, but their schedules are independent of each other. I believe BOP is slightly farther along, but Nicadeamas might be able to correct me on that.

what's the word bro?

Re: The Rebel, ep 1

.
Okay, There areabout 7 or 8 maps.

Map 1 is 50% and to finish I need to learn scripting.
Map 2 is 80% and to finish I need some kind of puzzle and lots of zombies.
Maps 3 and 5 are 4% They are just long road maps, shouldnt be to hard to make at all, just time consumeing.

Map 4 is still in design in my head but it's slowly comeing along, I've created a really cool phisy effect for one of the explotions in map 4.

Other 2 maps are not started.

I'm half way done in creating the virtixes of a jeep for the mod but I have yet to learn how to make the model texture or inort it into hl2.

So The Rebel is still going, I havent given up on it or anything. It's just comeing along very slowly heh heh.

Don't think that by me asking you about things I am telling you to hurry up. I can empathize with the fact the you are a one man show and so the work goes slowly. Although I would love to see it sooner than later, I understand that you don't just wave magic wand and *poof*, it is done.

It was still nice to get an idea of where the project is a right now though. Thanks.

Re: The Rebel, ep 1

.
Well, if I layed all my other prjects aside and consentrated all my free time on The Rebel I could probably get it done in 2 months.. or 3. but then again, with a little scripting help that would meen I dont have to learn scripting so it may even be posable to get it done in 1 month.

Then there is ep2 to consider. Ep2 has that awsum phisy thing... I got plavces in The Rebel where that would be an exelent addition. So maybe I will wait a month for that to come out then implement it into The Rebel, in which case it could be done in 2 months...

Currantly I have about 5 css maps I'm trying to finish, 5 friends who I help regulerly, 2 DM maps I wana finish, 3 TF2 maps I want to start as soon as TF2 sdk is out, and 1 other mod that I'm working on.
I think thats all my other projects, on the computer anyway.
Off the computer I got enough work around the house to keep me busy 6 hours a day for a few years.
And I go to work with my bro 2 days out of the week.

But yeah, I'm gona put some more effort into getting it out sooner rather then later. 8-)
